ABOUT JUDICIAL CORRECTIONS SERVICES & SUPERVISED PROBATION

Why Supervised Probation?

When the concept of probation was created, offenders who failed to pay their monthly, court-ordered fines were put behind bars, causing jails to quickly become overcrowded. The “Never Never Plan” came into effect, giving court clerks the authority to collect fines – a responsibility they were not properly equipped to handle, especially in small, understaffed municipalities. As a result, collection rates plummeted. Since most smaller cities could not afford to fund probation departments, a handful of supervised probation management companies emerged. Now, counties and municipalities contract with supervised probation management companies like Judicial Correction Services to collect probationer fines and monitor the probation process.

Components Of Our Programs

Judicial Correction Services offers the country’s most comprehensive probation management program-- A program that combines proven Offender Management and Supervision with proven Technology and stellar Customer Service.

Proven Probation Management
Municipalities are unable to simultaneously perform the jobs of probation officer with other court duties. There’s simply not enough time or available manpower. JCS offers probation management services to help courts collect more money faster, lighten administrative workloads and help reduce the risk of repeat offenses. We understand the unique needs of law enforcement agencies, court clerks and government officials.
• We maintain documentation of a probationer’s performance.
• Hardcopies are archived and copies are available via a secure extranet computer system, enabling clients to view them at any time.
• We provide clients with secure access to a large selection of management reports.
• We maintain separate accounts for fines and restitutions, reconciling all deposit reports for the court upon request.
• We collect all restitution and send funds directly to the court or victim as ordered.

Proven Supervision
JCS fully staffs all courts. When a client retains us to manage a court, the primary officer assigned to the account attends each court session. Upon completion of the sentencing phase, a JCS representative will meet with the probationer. During this time, a court order detailing the case disposition will be completed, along with personal information and a review of the release terms. We will then schedule the probationer for his or her first appointment with us.
• We employ only trained probation officers and aides.
• We conduct a thorough sentence review with every offender to ensure complete understanding of all court-ordered sanctions.
• We establish a payment schedule for all fines.
• We refer all probationers to local facilities or programs to fulfill all court-ordered requirements (i.e. GED, risk reduction, etc.). Our officers monitor every offender’s attendance and performance.
• We maintain a thorough documentation of all contact with probationer, related individuals and agencies throughout the term of probation.

Proven Technology
